We offer rides from the Idaho Falls, Idaho airport the day before the trip.
We all meet the day before the pack trip at our ranch.
We eat dinner at the ranch.
You will spend that night in our lodge or bunkhouse.
Day 1:
Pack up gear & meet your ride for the next week!
Head to the trailhead
Ride 7 miles through a canyon, along a river to our first camp.
Get settled in camp, turn horses loose, gather around camp fire to have dinner and share stories.
You have the choice to sleep under the open sky or in a tent.
Day 2:
Rise, turn horses out, enjoy breakfast, pack up to head to the next camp.
You’ll be riding along the Continental Divide Trail for 17 miles over the top of the Centennial Mountains, with views of Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho, including the Tetons, Snow Crest, Gravelies, Yellowstone National park and the Maddison range.
You will enjoy lunch at 10,000 ft of elevation.
There you can dangle your legs off a cliff with a 1000ft drop off below you.
The next stop is a camp at a beautiful mountain lake surrounded by lots of wildflowers where we get settled at camp, enjoy dinner and watch the horses wander through the meadows of wildflowers.
Day 3:
Take a slow morining to sleep in and rest your tired bones from the day before. When you rest, so do your horses.
We spend the day swimming and fishing at the lake.
Take time to get some pretty pictures with the horses, share stories around the camp fire, & eat lots of good food.
Day 4:
After breakfast we head out from camp to the Missouri Headwaters.
They are a 14 mile ride away from our camp. It’s a beautiful ride along a river, with lots of water crossings, and wildlife sightings. It’s rare we don’t see moose up there!
This canyon is right across from Yellowstone National Park, so we frequently encounter moose, elk, deer and bear in there, as well as signs of wolf but it’s rare they stick around to be seen.
Day 5:
Rise and enjoy a good breakfast and slowly pack up gear.
This is our last morning at camp, some people take the opportunity for a morning swim, & some early morning fishing before we pack up our gear and head out down the mountain, through the timber to the trailhead where trucks and trailers will be waiting for us to drive back to our ranch.
